Blog Assignment Five. Dr. King Speech

In this blog I will discuss the strategy that Dr. King used in his speeches, "How long? Not Long" and his Last Speech,  videos from youtube that demonstrates Kings power over the people and his frustration.  It is so effective the way Dr. King took the fear out of the people, he did not only bring out the fear but he also brings God into them. This was a success in Kings speech because he spoke in a confidence tone of voice, he used the language to express and send out the message out to the people. The things he said and the way he uses gesture to catch the people attention, it was incredible. While preaching he raises his hands out to the crowd a sign of blessing, you in power, he brought faith into the people hearts "We going to be okay no matter what", he basically is saying we will face obstacles and we shall be prepare for this but we will make it. Cheering and repeating after him How long? not long, with these words he had the people full of happiness and joy. He made sure to let them know that non-violence was the strategy, constantly repeating from the Bible " My eyes are seeing the Glory of the coming lord", he is saying I've seen the future lets walk tors it. He enlightened the crowd. In his Last Speech King tone of voice changed  after three years he sound angry, fed up. He tells the people "we have difficult days ahead of us" he never lied to the people about what was coming up, but he was not afraid of what was coming, he did not fear, and that even though it was hard to get there God will bring it. Once again he repeated "my eyes are seeing the Glory of the coming lord", bringing faith and confidence to the people, leaving the stage with  the loud crowd full of joy, happiness and clapping for him.

In this blog I will discuss Dr. King ideas on The Most durable Power, his belief of the most durable power is love. The type of love that was instead of being aggressive you will hug another. It was not the regular typical love, it was being the bigger person to walk away and being able to do this you would have to have alot of power. To support this idea Dr. King says "It is not a do nothing method it is not a weak tactic. The power to resist is just as or more stronger than actually fighting" (King,10). to connect this idea the use of justice was a practice of showing kindness and not injustice toward the opponent.
